Design and print your first label (quick start)
Get ready
- Make sure you have special LightScribe CDs or DVDs. LightScribe works when the hardware interacts with the special coating that can only be found on LightScribe discs.
- Specially coated LightScribe discs are available at major retail stores or online.
- LightScribe discs are identified by the LightScribe logo on
the media package.
- LightScribe discs are available in many colors. To have a colored disc background, you must use a colored disc.
- Launch LightScribe Template Labeler. You can burn the label onto the disc either before or after you put the disc content (for example, movies, music, or photos) onto the disc.
- Insert the disc label-side down (coated-side down) into the LightScribe drive. The first time the software launches, the splash screen displays.
You can choose to click Don't show me this again.
- If you have problems, refer to www.lightscribe.com.
Choose a template
- Choose a template from the left pane. The chosen template appears in the main window (right pane).
- Note whether the template you have chosen includes places for both text and images, or only text, or only images.
Add text
- If your chosen template includes a place for text, click Click to add text. The left pane changes to let you modify text settings.
- Type the text to appear on the label.
- Change font and alignment settings as desired.
- If the template includes additional text locations, repeat as needed.
Add images
- If your chosen template includes a place for one or more images, double click Click to add image. A Windows Explorer window opens and the left pane changes to let you modify image settings.
- Use the Windows Explorer window to select an image.
- In the left pane, change zoom, position, and orientation settings as desired.
- If the template includes additional image locations, repeat as needed.
Save, preview, and print
- If you want to save your label design, click Save.
- Click Preview and Print.
- Click Print. The print time duration depends on the content’s complexity.
- When the label is done, turn it over to burn content such as music, photos, or movies onto the disc.
